About Me!

Isabella Woodson is a director, producer, and arts leader based in Oklahoma who specializes in new works and classic reimagining’s.

Isabella is a fourth-year student at the University of Oklahoma’s Helmerich School of Drama, specializing in Directing with a minor in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. She is a two-time recipient of the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Summer Fellowship Grant, allowing her to independently produce Another Beginning by Anna Halza, and The Secretaries by the Five Lesbian Brothers. Recent directing credits include Orientation: A Staged Reading (Alley Theatre), The Grown-Ups (University of Oklahoma), Another Beginning (UReCA), Birde (Kogar New Play Festival). Assisting/Associate credits include: Arcadia (University of Oklahoma, dir Ashley Monroe), Waiting for Lefty (University of Oklahoma, dir Seth Gordon), Oh L’Amour: An Erasure Musical (Tanninger Entertainment, dir Hunter Bird). 

Isabella’s work bridges both artistic and administrative leadership. As the Development Intern at the Alley Theatre, she supports donor stewardship efforts and contributes to fundraising initiatives while developing experience in nonprofit arts management at one of the nation’s leading regional theatre companies. She also had the privilege of producing and directing the inaugural Alley Theatre Intern Staged Reading, leading a team of fellow interns through the artistic and logistical processes of bringing Anna Parker’s, Orientation, to life on the Hubbard Stage. 

Today, Isabella serves as a Co-Artistic Director of Co.Arts Theater Co., a non-profit theatre company based in Norman, Oklahoma, dedicated to uplifting and producing original work. Co.Arts has gained national recognition through its annual devising cohort, premiering new plays in Chicago, Wisconsin, Kansas, and New York. Through this commitment to developing new voices, Co.Arts has established itself as Oklahoma’s premier new works theatre.
